does anyone else get the feeling that England have given up on ever winning anything ever again?
(Source: newsballs)
I can honestly say that I will switching my allegiances to the new club (Because I related to Sydney FC about as much as I relate to a woman going through menopause. I’m a 20 y.o male by the way)
So there’s been lots of people suggesting what the team should be called what the colours should be etc.
And seeing as I feel lame answering this stuff on facebook (my friends keep telling me I’m way too much into football and because of that stupid thing where people can see what you commented on in their news feed I hear it more often) I’m going to use this blog as my way of expressing my opinions :D
So first things first team name:
Top 3 that I’ve seen: 1.West Sydney Wanderes 2.West Sydney Rovers and 3. West Sydney Rangers.
Let me make it simple. Option one = Relegated Option 2= Relegated Option 3 = Administration and possibly relegated.
K.I.S.S: AFC Western Sydney. Doesn’t sound like Sydney FC no other team in the A League has a name similar name.
Club Colours : This is more interesting to me. The number one option I’ve seen is red and black. Once again. Red and Black = A.C Milan. A.C Milan = Italian Football. Italian Football = Diving. Italians + Diving = Knocked out of the world cup. So no. Terrible idea.
I think we need to look at it in purely a Derby Fashion. Sydney FC = All Blue. Therefore AFC Western Sydney should = All red. (I know I’m a Liverpool fan so my opnion towards an all red kit is probably biased but as Bill Shankly said “Christ Ronnie you look 7 feet tall!)Red is intimidating. It makes the players look bigger and like they move faster.
Home Ground: The main option I’ve heard is Parramatta Stadium. Which I agree with. Better public transport than all other options and is far more Central to all of Western Sydney.
Players: I’m surprised no one is discussing this at length. I don’t think I’ll draw up a full starting 11 I’ll just talk marquee players. Now I know that they have been called pointless and so on and so forth in the past. But in my opnion it’s purely because the A League clubs have been going about it the wrong way. The whole idea of a marquee player is that they put bums on seats. So that means people have to have actually of heard of them(Don’t lie you had no idea who Juninho was before Sydney signed him). Get them interested. So in all honesty I think there’s only really one player they should be considering for it. And people think I’m insane when I say this and that it would never happen but I disagree. I think they player they should be going for is Raul Gonzalez. Now before you decide I’m crazy just hear me out. They guy is a living footballing legend. If you’re a fan of football and you don’t know who Raul is then you’re not really a football fan at all. Also I consider it entirely possible. He has said no to a contract extension at Shalke and has admitted his future lies outside of Europe. Now I think with a similar deal to the one that brought Harry to the victory it could be more than enticing enough to bring him here. He will bring in the numbers the club needs to prove that Western Sydney was the right move for the A League. He’s available. He’s a massive name. He’s a goal machine and a leader. Everything the club will need to establish itself.
Also if not him then Del Piero (for the same reasons as Raul)
Manager: Easy. Aurellio Vidmar or Ton Popovic. Vidmar we already know is a great coach. And Popovic would want to prove himself as a coach.
That’s what I think. Let me know what you think. Do you think I’m right or that I’m out of my mind? Or that I’m right about something but wrong about something else. Let me know.
Don’t you, Stevie, don’t you have a hotel named after you, in Indonesia?

Gearing up. It’s 3:14 in the morning and the next 46 minutes will be too long for my liking.

23 years ago today Liverpool played Nottingham Forrest in an FA cup semi final. 96 of those that travelled would never come home. Justice for the 96. YNWA
